Bring 4th Summer!
You know how you get a picture in your head about how you'd want something to be if the world was really a fair place and then...it happens that way? That's how the 4th was for me this year. And, you must know that I like the 4th much more than Christmas. Much more. For one thing, it only happens ONCE each year, wherein Christmas celebrations seem to happen over, and over and over again each year in a nauseating fashion until you can't stand it any longer (but I do admit to loving my lights and tree, which are teeny tiny personal celebrations in and of themselves). Another thing is the people! Other holidays, you're "obligated" to spend with "family". The 4th, you get to pick, and if you're really lucky (like me), you get to spend the holiday with both family and friends that are family. AND you don't "have to" travel anywhere to celebrate-it's all whereever you are (well, especially in Manistee). Plus, the presents are really easy-sparklers-some for everyone. And a beer. The (OK, I admit, it's kinda lame, but that's part of the fun of the thing)parade, the cook-outs, the fireworks lying on a blanket on the beach with a loved one (or 2 or 12).
And the babies at the fireworks: "That's my favorite!" "That one's my favorite!" spoken after each burst. BTW, this idea of "celebrating with light" was conjured up by John Adams, back when our presidents still had intellect, so the thought's been around awhile.
PS And many thanks, love and hugs to the best parade marchers ever! (you know who you are) you make my world!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! Must've been SOME guy to be celebrated annually with the drinking of green beer. Anyone joining in the "shortest parade ever" this evening? Costumes could be amazing-drunks naked and painted green! Don't have too much fun today, even if it IS tradtional.

OK, got everyone goin' there for a minute, except my own 2 who have been hearing this for years. A day for love...one wonders why we can't achieve this every day? Thinking of others, doing little things to make another happy and, well thought of at all and letting them KNOW it. Let's not confine this to a day!
Yesterday was only a start-keep it going:hug, send that e-mail, mail that card (if you're old enough to remember how that works), compliment another, hide a little gift, bring a little flower, just show up, hold hands, smile, help somebody out-let's start an epidemic! This is so not difficult.
And, if you're reading this at all, you're loved, and not just yesterday...
Here's a cute little quote for you:

"There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved"
George Sand (aka: Amandine Aurore Lucile Dupin, Baronne Dudevant) 1804-1876 (back in the day when only men were allowed to be intelligent, further their education and publish)

Here's MY poll: do you love every day?

PS Tomorrow is Ryan's birthday.

Nathan- (or anyone else out there with a bigger brain than I have)How does one "fix" a spell checker that's clearly broken? For Eg I had "met" instead of "meet" and it it missed it contextually, also, I had typed an entire phrase twice and it didn't notice? Maybe I just make sense when I'm screwing up...Could you send me an e-mail address (I promise, I'll not sign "Hugs"), because this is a hassle to get into...Ho[pe you life is good (well?).

Nathan-Can you send me a brief checklist of things to check when one's wireless is "down" (don't worry-not ours...). I left a phone message, too but I doubt that you'll ever hear that. You're a computer wizard. Thanks, No Hugs, Mama Fark

"Freedom is ours to hold-just a struggle in your mine to keep your soul...keep your soul.
How long you're down depends on how you rise. Life has a meaning so open your eyes."

Happy first day of school, to those of you who started today. Hope it's all you expected it to be or better, or at least tolerable...

Crazy people who say to you "These are the best years of your life!" As in, "Shut up and quit complaining" are nuts! It's tough making life-long decisions in chaos...the inner kind or the kind outside of you.

Keep your soul!!! Hugs, Mama Fark

Summer's waning/change
This is one of the toughest times of the year. We slip out of our flip-flops, say goodbye to loved ones, long sunny days at the beach, and the ease that comes with summer. It seems so difficult, but new opportunities are on the horizon. The loved ones going off to the new adventure of higher learning will be back, days will have a certain order, the leaves will fall. We're fortunate to live in a place where the seasons are so evident! Admitedly, there is pain associated with change, but if we never changed, if nature didn't change around us,true growth would never be realized. There can be great peace associated with change-find it in yourselves. Today you're loved!
